Perspectives: Inspiring a Generation for God’s Global Purposes
At MDE, we have the privilege of walking alongside Christians who are moving into global work— through entrepreneurship, professional placement, or long-term missions. Again and again, we hear a familiar origin story: “I took the Perspectives course.”
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a 15-week course that has forever changed the trajectory of thousands of lives. It helps everyday believers understand the God’s global purpose and their role in His mission. The curriculum covers four key elements:
- Biblical: God’s unchanging purpose and His redemptive plan throughout Scripture
- Historical: How God has moved through His people across centuries
- Cultural: Understanding cultures and worldviews for effective cross-cultural witness
- Strategic: Current strategies and movements shaping missions today – including Business as Mission (BAM)
The course is taught by mission practitioners, sending agency representatives, and mobilizers—people who aren’t just talking theory. They’ve lived it. Their stories are real, compelling, and often paradigm-shifting. The result? Participants walk away with a wider view of what God is doing in the world—and what their part might be in sending, receiving, mobilizing, or going.
The impact is measurable:
- 19% of Perspectives alumni have gone to the field long-term
- 23% have increased involvement in international communities locally
- 66% pray more frequently for missionaries
- 61% increased their giving to missions
- 27% increased giving to their local church
- 21% began discipling others toward the mission field

Perspectives is now active in over 40 nations. The course is available in multiple languages to serve a diverse, global Church—including English, Spanish, Korean, and Arabic, with a Chinese translation currently in development. Whether taken in-person or online, the course continues to inspire and equip believers from all walks of life.
