BUILD SUSTAINABLE WORK AND
ENGAGE IN DISCIPLE-MAKING
IN DIFFICULT PLACES

We’d love to explore how MDE can serve you.

Of course, before you schedule a call with us, you might want to know a little bit more about it.

Below you’ll learn who MDE serves and how to discern whether membership is a good fit for you. You’ll also find an overview of the support every member receives, the membership fees, and what the journey toward membership looks like.

You go. We come alongside.

MDE is not a sending agency. We don’t place or employ you.

Instead, we support you with coaching, mentoring, and structured guidance—applied in real time as you pursue your work and calling.

Joining MDE is more than completing an application. Together we’ll walk through a thoughtful process of conversation, discernment, and references to confirm whether MDE is the right fit for this season.

Once you are a member, we’ll continue to walk with you in a similar posture. Because each pathway is different, the type and level of support will vary. As your work develops, support is added or adjusted to meet real needs along the way.

Who does MDE serve?

Every MDE member integrates meaningful work with intentional disciple-making. They do that through one of three vocational pathways.

Start or grow a business

Build and lead a sustainable, for-profit enterprise that provides goods or services within the local economy. This pathway is commonly known as Business as Mission or BAM.

Live missionally in your profession

Use your professional training and experience in a position with an existing employer, contributing your skills within a business, organization, institution, or agency. Someone on this pathway is often described as a disciple-making employee.

Lead a development-focused initiative

Launch or lead a community, educational, or development venture that addresses local needs through sustainable programs, services, or initiatives.

A few basics about fit.

If you are…

  • A mature believer with a clear sense of calling
  • Committed to both excellence in your work and intentional disciple-making
  • Pursuing (or preparing for) long-term presence in a spiritually dark or unreached context
  • Building a viable business, professional role, or development-focused initiative
  • Open to coaching, mentoring, and accountability over time

….then membership could be a good fit.

If you are…

  • Looking for a sending organization to place or deploy you
  • Exploring short-term or episodic mission experiences
  • Not yet pursuing a sustainable economic pathway
  • Primarily seeking training, funding, or one-time consulting
  • Unwilling to engage in ongoing relationships and accountability
  • Looking primarily for a “visa platform”

…then membership is probably not a fit.

At least not now.

What Every Member Receives

No matter your pathway, MDE surrounds you with a coordinated support team—providing just-in-time guidance and ongoing support as you build sustainable work and live out a disciple-making presence. Your team will include a curated combinating of the following.

  • Missional Mentoring
Ongoing encouragement and accountability as you integrate faith and work in your context.
  • Specialized Expertise
Access to experienced advisors for targeted input at key moments.
  • Structured Support
Regular rhythms of connection, problem-solving, and long-term care.
