Business Coach

Position Description

MDE recruits and trains spiritually mature business professionals willing to volunteer their time and expertise in support of BAM ventures — from the initial concept to planning, to launch, to scaling and then to reproducing.

Business Coaches serve as the primary point of contact for BAM Client/Members, providing consistent guidance and support. They help set goals, address challenges, and track progress, while drawing on both professional expertise and a heart for disciple-making. Supported by MDE staff, Business Coaches connect Client/Members to specialized Advisors from our Faculty of Advisors, ensuring just-in-time expertise. In this way, Business Coaches play a critical role in helping Client/Members build ventures that are financially sustainable, culturally appropriate, and spiritually fruitful.

For this role, we seek individuals with diverse experience and skills in areas such as business start-ups, management, growth strategies, sales, manufacturing, and distribution. These are leaders who can integrate faith and professional guidance and encourage Client/Members to pursue both business excellence and spiritual impact. Personal experience in specific industries and cross-cultural business settings is especially valuable.

Time Commitment

We have found that it takes just 4 or 5 hours initially to establish a relationship and become familiar with the Client and their BAM venture. From there, the business coach will meet with the Client/Member monthly for an hour or so via Zoom or an equivalent. There may also be some email communication and document sharing during the month. With prep and review time, this volunteer role generally requires a time commitment of 2-3 hours per month. Some business coaches choose to meet with the Client/Member more often and some even decide to coach additional Client/Members.
