MDE Board Members
Mark P. Canada
Mark Canada is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Marketplace & Development Enterprises. He served as MDE’s CEO from its inception in 2015 until February of 2025. Mark earned his BS in Accounting from Huntington University as well as his JD from UCLA. Mark was a partner in his law firm until joining SEND International for 12 years, where he and his wife, Charlene, served in several locations in Eurasia.
After returning to the States, Mark founded MDE to provide essential services for missional business people in the field, helping them to make money and make disciples in unreached communities. Mark continues to volunteer as a legal advisor for MDE members. He and Charlene make their home in Carmel, Indiana.


Ronald Clipp
Ron is the Chief Operations Officer at Shepherd’s Staff Mission Facilitators, where he has served since 2005. Prior to his move into full-time ministry with Shepherd’s Staff, Ron’s professional career was centered within the U.S. defense industry where he co-founded a small consulting corporation to support U.S. Navy shipbuilding, maintenance and, modernization programs. Ron is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and currently resides in Albuquerque, NM with his wife Kathi, four adult children, and seven grandchildren.
Ruth D. Hubbard
Ruth serves as the Communications Director for MDE. She began her missions career in 2000 as a graphic designer with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Over time, she took on roles such as Director of Integrated Marketing and VP of Communications before being promoted to Senior VP in 2006 and then Chief Brand Officer in 2012. Following that, Ruth spent eight years as the Urbana Vice President for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, marking the first time a woman held this position. Aside from her professional achievements, Ruth is also known for her design skills, love for doodling, and passion for collecting rocks.


Alan D. MacDonald
Spanning the globe is a fair description of Alan MacDonald’s career. After 32 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) in a variety of positions and places, like Mexico, the Philippines, and China, Alan spent 10 years as the pastor for Global Engagement in a Washington, D.C. church. Now, Alan serves as a consultant with WBT, advises on the MDE board, and volunteers with local ministries in Fairfax, Virginia, where he and his wife, Doris, live. Alan speaks fluent Chinese and Tagalog, is a networker extraordinaire, and has always been interested in the cultures of the world. Alan and Doris both root for the Nationals.
Alexandra Martin
Ali Martin resides in Indianapolis, IN, where she works as the Brand Manager for Hormel Foods International department. After graduating college, she was hired by Hormel Foods in a Foodservice Sales role, moving to Boston. In 2017, she was promoted and took a role in Des Moines. Through trials, she turned a troubled territory around, developed key relationships, and exceeded plan, before making a career change and entering her current position in 2019. Ali is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Business and a concentration in Food Marketing. She loves rock climbing, traveling, and setting an annual reading goal.
